According to data published by the National Institute of Statistics, in August 2026 compared to August 2025, constructions increased by 40%.
By structural elements, increases were recorded in new construction works, plus 45%, in maintenance and current repair works, plus 39% and in capital repair works, plus 23%.
By construction objects, increases were recorded in residential buildings, plus 55%, in engineering constructions, plus 39%, and in non-residential buildings, with an advance of 33%.
As can be seen, the demand for new constructions has increased strongly, especially in the residential segment, which means that the need for new houses is very high. Engineering constructions represent major infrastructure works, especially highways, and non-residential constructions mean schools and hospitals, heavily financed through the PNRR.
