Băneasa Developments plans to expand the Băneasa Shopping City mall by building a new building, as well as expanding the existing one. After the expansion, the mall will have an area of over 110,000 sqm and will become the largest mall in the country.
Gabriel Popoviciu’s company, which built the Băneasa mall, has requested an environmental permit for the new project, which includes the expansion with a building with two basements, a ground floor and two floors, with an area of 26,150 sqm. Two areas at the main entrance will also be expanded, each by 1,100 sqm. In addition, behind the mall, where there is an above-ground parking lot, a six-story parking lot will be built, with an area of 6,500 sqm.
Băneasa Shopping City had a turnover of over RON 308 million last year, up slightly by 3% compared to the result reported for 2024, while the net profit was similar to that of the previous year.
