Romania’s real estate community will gather in Bucharest on 3 December for the 19th edition of the CIJ Awards Romania, bringing together developers, investors, advisers, architects, contractors and property professionals for one of the country’s established annual industry events.
Taking place at the Radisson Blu Hotel Bucharest, the 2026 edition will recognise companies, developments, transactions and individuals that have contributed to Romania’s property market during the year. The programme spans the principal areas of commercial and residential real estate, including offices, logistics and industrial property, retail, housing, mixed-use development, hospitality, investment, construction and professional services.
The event arrives at an important point for the Romanian market. Development activity is becoming increasingly selective, investors are paying closer attention to asset quality and long-term performance, and sustainability, technology and operating efficiency are playing a greater role in decisions across the property sector. Against this background, the awards provide an opportunity to examine the projects and businesses helping shape the next stage of the market.
The 2026 event has attracted support from companies operating across a broad range of real estate disciplines. North Bucharest Investments is General Partner, while AFI Romania, Vastint Romania, Cloud9 and Cordia are supporting the event as Partners. Their participation brings together businesses active across residential, office and mixed-use development and reflects the continuing depth of investment and development activity in Bucharest and Romania’s other major urban markets.
Paval Holding, Hotspot, Coral Companies and Global Vision are participating as Associate Partners, with TPA Romania supporting the event as Tax Partner. The partnership structure extends beyond developers and investors, highlighting the increasingly diverse group of specialists involved in delivering, financing and operating modern real estate.
Lion’s Head, Safety Approach, Workspace Studio and Bog’Art are supporting individual award categories. Their involvement represents several different parts of the property lifecycle, ranging from investment and construction to workplace solutions and safety management.
Environmental performance will also have a visible role at this year’s event, with CarbonTool joining as Sustainability Partner. Carbon measurement, energy efficiency and the environmental performance of buildings have moved rapidly from specialist considerations towards mainstream investment and development criteria, particularly as owners and occupiers assess the long-term competitiveness of their properties.
Amber Forest, RRG – Real Estate Group and RENOMIA Romania Gallagher will support the opening reception as Welcome Drinks Sponsors. The reception traditionally provides an opportunity for guests to meet before the formal programme begins and has become an important networking element of the evening.

Entries for the 2026 competition opened on 24 August and are scheduled to close on 30 September. The awards will consider completed developments as well as projects progressing through the development pipeline, alongside transactions, leasing activity and achievements by companies providing services to the real estate industry.
Residential development will again form an important part of the competition, reflecting the expansion and diversification of Romania’s housing market. Projects will be considered across different market segments, while attention will also be given to qualities such as neighbourhood integration, accessibility, amenities, regeneration and environmental performance.
Commercial property remains equally prominent. Office, industrial and logistics, retail, hotel and mixed-use developments will feature alongside investment transactions and leasing achievements. Professional disciplines including architecture, construction, project management, property and facility management, technology and energy-related services will also be represented.
Winners from eligible Romanian project categories will have the opportunity to progress to the Best of the Best HOF Awards 2027, where successful projects from Romania will be measured against leading developments from other Central and Eastern European markets. This regional stage gives the national awards an additional dimension, allowing achievements in Romania to be compared with projects delivered elsewhere across the region.
The December gala will begin with an early-evening reception before moving into dinner, entertainment and the presentation of the awards. Networking will continue following the ceremony, bringing together senior representatives from companies operating throughout the Romanian property industry.
Now approaching two decades of continuous editions, CIJ Awards Romania has become more than a competition between individual projects. The event provides an annual meeting point for an industry that has changed substantially since the awards were first introduced, from the rapid expansion of modern office and shopping-centre development to the growth of logistics, institutional residential investment, mixed-use schemes and increasingly sophisticated approaches to sustainability and technology.
The 2026 edition will therefore provide both recognition of the year’s achievements and a broader view of where Romanian real estate is heading. With established international groups working alongside domestic developers, investors and specialist businesses, the companies supporting this year’s awards reflect a market that continues to mature while adapting to new economic, environmental and operational demands.
