The wagon factory in Arad, bought ten years ago by the Americans from Greenbrier, is now up for sale. The platform has 250,000 square meters, and its sale is being handled by Cushman & Wakefield Echinox.
The price is not disclosed, but the property is promoted as suitable for an urban regeneration project with mixed functions. The land is located on Calea Aurel Vlaicu, where, before the 2008 real estate crisis, several developers flocked to build malls.
The company announced last year that it was stopping the production of wagons in Arad, amid difficult and accelerating challenges on the local market. With the Arad factory closed, Greenbrier said that the factories in Caracal, Olt County, and Drobeta-Turnu Severin, Mehedinți County, will fulfill orders.
