Scallier to open Funshop Park Arad on March 6

The Polish company Scallier announced that it is close to completing the retail park in Arad, which will open to the public on March 6. The retail park has a leasable area of about 10,000 sqm. Tenants include DM, Sinsay, Pepco, KIK, Tedi, and Agroland, as well as Stay Fit Gym and several restaurants. The retail park is 95% leased and is the seventh developed by the company locally.

“The retail market in Romania is growing rapidly and stands out for its investment dynamics compared to other European markets. In this sector, we can talk about a boom. According to estimates, over 800,000 sqm of retail space is currently under construction in this country, twice as much as in Poland. Romania is among the top beneficiaries of EU funds, and the country is recording a significant increase in retail sales, far exceeding the EU average. These factors undoubtedly encourage the development of new retail projects. Especially since the saturation rate on the retail space market is one of the lowest in Europe, with a stock three times lower than in Poland. Many regions, especially suburban and regional locations, do not have an attractive retail offer. That is where we place our investments. Taking advantage of the favorable economic conditions in Romania, we have been developing investments in retail parks here for several years. We intend to constantly increase the company’s market share, which highlights our commitment to its development,” says Wojciech Jurga, Managing Partner at Scallier.

Cluj County Council announces that its headquarters will become the first green public building in Romania and that, thus, the building’s energy consumption will be extremely low, close to zero.

The institution’s future modernized headquarters will comply with BREEAM (Building Research Establishment’s Environmental Assessment Method) standards for green buildings.

“Following the expansion and modernization works, the Cluj County Council headquarters will become the first certified green public building in Romania, with extremely low, close to zero energy consumption. This aspect will contribute to the efficiency of the work of employees in all these structures, facilitating even better communication and collaboration,” said the president of the Cluj County Council, Alin Tișe.

The total developed area of the future headquarters of the Cluj County Council will almost double, namely it will increase from 3,552 sqm to about 6,700 sqm, with a ground footprint of about 960 sqm. The total value of the investment is 90,512,725.98 lei, with financing to be provided both from the County Council budget and from other sources.
