NEW YORKER adds 600 sqm to Warsaw store as Blue City reshapes retail mix

8 October 2026

NEW YORKER has increased the size of its store at Warsaw’s Blue City shopping centre by around two-thirds, expanding from approximately 900 sqm to 1,500 sqm. The refurbished store opened on 1 October and is now the fashion retailer’s largest location in Warsaw.

The store occupies level +1 of the centre and provides additional selling space across NEW YORKER’s women’s and men’s fashion ranges, including its FISHBONE, FISHBONE SISTER, AMISU, SMOG and CENSORED labels. The refurbishment has also reorganised the larger unit to separate the retailer’s different collections more clearly.

The expansion is notable because NEW YORKER continues to place physical shops at the centre of its sales model. Customers can explore collections digitally, but transactions are handled through its store network. The German company, which has operated for more than 50 years, now has over 1,300 locations across Europe, Asia and the United States.

For Blue City, the additional 600 sqm represents another adjustment to the shopping centre’s tenant structure rather than an expansion of the property itself. Enlarging an existing fashion store allows the centre to allocate more space to an established tenant while adapting its retail offer to changing customer and retailer requirements.

Anna Gut, Leasing Director at Blue City, said the decision by NEW YORKER to increase its footprint would expand the fashion selection available to customers and support the centre’s appeal to younger shoppers.

The deal also demonstrates that larger physical fashion formats continue to have a role in established shopping centres where retailers see sufficient customer traffic and sales potential. For Blue City, NEW YORKER’s 67% increase in occupied space represents a substantial commitment by an existing tenant and another step in the ongoing repositioning of its retail mix.
