During the first nine months of 2026, Hotel Cișmigiu, part of the Hercesa România portfolio, recorded accommodation revenues of more than EUR 1.1 million, approximately 4% below the same period in 2025, along with over 17,000 overnight stays, down 8%. The differences stem almost entirely from the first four months of the year, which were affected by the consequences of the situation in the Middle East.
“We started the year with the cancellation of flights from Israel, our main international market, which led to a sharp decline in demand within just a few weeks. We managed to recover in the second half of the year because we did not rely on a single market or a single sales channel. The main lesson of these nine months is that a hotel’s resilience comes from balance”, said Mirela Cojocaru, General Manager of Hotel Cișmigiu.
Following the slower start to the year, the gap compared to 2025 narrowed in the second quarter, and in Q3 2026 accommodation revenue exceeded EUR 360,000, outperforming the same period last year. August 2026 stood out with an occupancy rate of 68.6%, compared to 60.4% in the same month of the previous year, while accommodation revenue was nearly 14% higher. September was the strongest month of the quarter, with an occupancy rate of almost 87% and an average daily rate approximately 2% above September 2025 levels.
In the first nine months of 2026, Hotel Cișmigiu welcomed guests from 89 countries, with international travelers accounting for approximately 85% of all guest nights. Israel remained the hotel’s largest international market, generating 20.6% of foreign guest nights, compared to 24.9% during the same period in 2025. The United States rose to second place with 8.8%, followed by the United Kingdom (8.1%), Germany (8%), Spain (5.3%), Italy (5.2%), and Turkey (4.5%).
