IULIUS and Atterbury Europe are undertaking a comprehensive modernization of Iulius Mall Cluj through an investment exceeding EUR 7.6 million, with completion scheduled for next year.. The mall welcomes approximately 14.8 million visits annually. Opened in 2007, Iulius Mall Cluj comprises 57,000 sqm of leasable retail space and brings together 240 brands. The mixed-use destination is complemented by three nearby office buildings and a 30,000 sqm park.
As part of its ongoing modernization process, Iulius Mall Cluj is further diversifying its offering through new openings across both the retail and food & beverage segments, including the launch of MINISO and a new café, while also expanding its leisure component with Energy Games, a 600 sqm entertainment concept designed for teenagers, alongside a new play area dedicated to children. At the same time, the project includes upgrades to the mall’s technical infrastructure and the implementation of new features aimed at improving accessibility, comfort, and the overall visitor experience.
“The modernization of Iulius Mall Cluj is part of our strategy of continuously adapting to evolving consumer behaviour and the expectations of the local community. We are seeing a growing preference for accessible brands and for experiences that seamlessly combine shopping, leisure, and social interaction. Through the introduction of new brands and entertainment concepts, we are strengthening Iulius Mall Cluj’s profile as a relevant destination for families, teenagers, and young adults, while investments in the upgrade of the mall’s spaces will further enhance visitor comfort and elevate the overall customer experience,” said Ștefan Roman, Shopping Center Manager of Iulius Mall Cluj.
