GARBE Opens Zurich Company for Private Property and Infrastructure Investment

28 October 2026

German real estate and infrastructure group GARBE has established a new company in Zurich to arrange property and infrastructure investments involving family offices, private banks and privately owned investment businesses. Operating under the name GARBE Private Capital AG, the business will bring together private investors and the group’s shareholder families to finance individual transactions. Peter Paschke became Managing Director on 1 October 2026 and also serves on the company’s Board of Directors.

The new operation will arrange jointly financed property transactions, partnerships between investors and equity investments structured around individual projects. Its establishment broadens the group’s activities beyond its existing relationships with institutional investors and private equity firms. No fundraising target, initial investment commitments or completed transactions have been disclosed.

The parent company currently manages more than €15 billion in real estate and infrastructure assets, according to its own figures. Its operations extend across 16 countries through 23 offices in Europe, the United States and the Middle East. The Zurich business will draw on these existing operations when identifying investment opportunities and overseeing transactions.

The planned investments will include industrial and logistics properties, residential developments, food retail premises and hotels. Data centres and infrastructure projects will also be considered. The company has not identified specific geographical priorities or indicated how investment capital will be distributed between the different property sectors.

One feature of the investment structure is the participation of the group’s shareholder families alongside external investors. Their financial contributions will be combined with capital from family offices and other participating businesses. The amounts committed and the ownership arrangements will depend on individual transactions, with no standard investment thresholds or equity proportions announced.

Property acquisitions, development work and the management of completed buildings will be undertaken using the group’s existing teams. These activities may include purchasing land or buildings, overseeing construction and refurbishment, and managing properties after completion. The arrangement allows the Zurich operation to concentrate on investment relationships and financing structures while drawing on established property management resources.

Paschke brings more than 14 years of experience in private investment markets and investor relations. Before taking up his new position, he worked for a family office in Zug, Switzerland, where his responsibilities included real estate investment. His earlier career included positions at Pangaea Life Capital Partners and Muirfield Capital, a New York-based investment manager, where he was involved in the firm’s German business.

He was also involved in establishing Off Record, a Swiss network connecting family office representatives and business owners. His appointment places the new company’s investor relationships under an executive with experience in privately managed capital and property investment. Further management appointments and staffing details have not been announced.

The establishment of the Zurich business creates another route for private capital to participate in property and infrastructure transactions. Family offices can invest directly alongside developers and other investors through such arrangements, rather than relying exclusively on conventional property investment funds. The scale of the new operation’s activity will depend on the capital committed and the transactions completed, neither of which has yet been quantified.
