Former Hotel Capitol becomes Mercure Brașov Center

The company Aro-Palace SA is moving forward with the modernization works of the former Hotel Capitol, located on Eroilor Boulevard in the center of Brașov. The property is set to join the international Accor network and reopen under the name Mercure Brașov Center. The building’s new facade has largely been unveiled, marking a radical change in the property’s exterior appearance.

Renovation works commenced in February 2025 with an execution timeframe of 24 months, scheduled for completion in February 2027 according to the construction site notice board. Although the initial timeline aimed for the hotel to reopen during 2025, the project was delayed, with the official inauguration currently scheduled for July 1, 2027.
