Engie, the largest natural gas distribution operator in Romania, is moving its service center from the U-Center office complex to the space previously occupied by the Estée Lauder technology center, which closed at the end of last year. The new Engie headquarters is double the size of the current one and suitable for over 400 employees.
The American giant occupied 5,300 square meters, i.e. 5 floors or the equivalent of approximately half of the Matei Millo office building, developed by Forte Partners and now owned by businessman Omar Akili.
Now, the same 5,300 square meter space has been leased by Engie, which is moving its service center here from the U-Center complex, owned by Forte Partners. This is the largest office lease transaction, signed in the first quarter of 2026, and was brokered by the real estate consulting company CBRE.
