Bucharest and Transylvania residents pay the highest average prices for a home and contract the biggest mortgages in Romania, according to an analysis by online-only broker Ipotecare.ro.

The average value of a home purchased through a mortgage in Bucharest–Ilfov during this period was EUR 122,062, slightly higher than the average price of EUR 121,619 recorded in Transylvania (Alba, Bistrita-Nasaud, Brasov, Cluj, Covasna, Harghita, Mures and Sibiu).
