PORR Rehabilitates Traian Square in Timişoara for RON 109.5 million 

The Austrian construction company PORR, in association with Electroechipament Industial from Caraş-Severin, owned by several local entrepreneurs, won a contract worth RON 109.5 million (approximately EUR 21.5 million), excluding VAT, with the Timişoara city hall, which provides for the execution of works for the urban regeneration of the Traian Square area.

The works will be carried out within 24 months. The total value of the investment is EUR 34 million, and the Timişoara city hall has attracted non-reimbursable European financing worth over EUR 14 million.

“The regeneration of Traian Square is a complex project, with major underground works, on tram lines, on roads and sidewalks, on green spaces, but these will be scheduled in stages, so that the impact on residents and businesses in the neighborhood is as low as possible,” the Timisoara City Hall announced.
