CBRE Investment Management has appointed Bert Hesselink to a new EMEA logistics customer relationship role, strengthening its focus on occupiers across a European portfolio comprising approximately 8.4 million sqm of logistics property.
Hesselink joins CBRE IM from CTP and brings more than two decades of international real estate experience. His previous work included relationships with companies navigating property requirements linked to manufacturing, distribution and increasingly complex European supply chains. In his new position, he will work with CBRE IM’s local leasing, asset management and operating teams across the region.
The role covers a logistics platform with more than €17 billion of assets under management and over 1,700 occupiers. A key part of Hesselink’s remit will be identifying changing property requirements among those businesses, including expansion, consolidation and adjustments to distribution and manufacturing networks.
Laurie Lagarde, Head of EMEA Logistics Operator Division at CBRE Investment Management, said: “Our scale gives us reach, but our sector specialisation and operating model are what make the difference. We operate one of Europe’s largest logistics platforms, serving more than 1,700 occupiers across multiple countries, and we know that understanding customer needs is fundamental to delivering long term value.”
Lagarde added: “Bert’s experience working with occupiers across Europe will help us deepen those relationships and ensure the insights we gain continue to inform our investment decisions, asset management strategies and customer solutions as our logistics platform continues to grow.”
Bert Hesselink said: “CBRE IM has built one of Europe’s leading logistics platforms through a combination of local expertise, market intelligence and a customer-first mindset. Occupiers increasingly need partners who understand not only their real estate needs, but also the wider trends shaping their businesses and supply chains. I am excited to join the team and help strengthen those relationships while supporting customers across a diverse range of markets and sectors.”
The appointment comes as large logistics investors increasingly integrate occupier requirements into portfolio and investment decisions. For a platform operating across multiple European markets, closer contact with tenants can provide earlier visibility into demand for expansion, consolidation and specialised facilities, helping guide leasing decisions and future capital deployment.
