Hospital and Residential Project Planned on Former Factory Site in Bucharest

Jordanian investor Moh’D Moh’D, together with Romanian businessman Mohamed Hassanain, owner of the International Medical Center network of clinics, is moving forward with plans to build a hospital and residential building in Bucharest’s Drumul Taberei neighborhood. The project is set to rise on the site previously occupied by the Munplast plastics factory.

The investors acquired the 5,683-square-meter property at 53 1 Mai Boulevard in 2021. Following the demolition of the former factory structures, they are preparing to develop two new buildings: a medical clinic and hospital with around 60 beds, and an apartment building containing 174 units. The two buildings will share a two-level underground basement.

Moh’D Moh’D stated that both buildings would be constructed simultaneously due to certain interconnected areas within the development. He noted that construction is expected to begin later this year, pending the completion of permitting processes.

The residential building will feature a ground floor dedicated to commercial spaces and services related to the medical clinic. The project will include 225 underground parking spaces and an additional 37 spaces at ground level.
