IKEA is preparing a new stage of development in Romania and announces investments of approximately 130 million euros over the next three years. The plan includes EUR 125 million for the expansion and development of local operations, to which is added EUR 4.4 million for price reductions in the 2027 financial year.
According to IKEA Romania, approximately EUR 55 million of the development budget will go towards expanding the network, by opening 10 new stores. The new locations will not necessarily follow the model of large stores such as Băneasa or Pallady, but will be adapted to the specifics of each area.
Of the EUR 125 million allocated to development, approximately EUR 70 million are intended to consolidate existing operations. The largest part, over EUR 60 million, will go towards the modernization of the IKEA Băneasa store.
Another component of the strategy directly targets prices. In the 2027 financial year, IKEA will invest EUR 4.4 million to reduce prices in Romania.
