In January 2026, the authorities issued 7.8% fewer building permits for residential buildings compared to the same period in 2025, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics.
Thus, in January 2026, 1,768 building permits for residential buildings were issued (-7.8% compared to January 2025), with a total useful area of 532,378 sqm (+13.5%). Of the total building permits for residential buildings, 73.7% are for rural areas.
Also, in January 2026, there is a decrease in the number of building permits issued for residential buildings compared to the previous month (-150 permits).
In January 2026, 377 building permits were issued for non-residential buildings (+9.3% compared to January 2025), in a total usable area of 175,903 sqm (-51.7%).
