CEC Bank has granted EUR 36 million in financing to Veranda Obor SA, the owner of the Veranda Mall shopping center in Bucharest. The facility is intended to refinance existing exposure, support the project’s development plans and, for the first time, make capital distributions to the company’s shareholders.
The new financing comes against the backdrop of solid operational developments in the post-pandemic period. Veranda Mall has maintained – and continues to have – an occupancy rate of almost 100% throughout the post-pandemic period.
Retailers in the shopping center reported sales growth of over 5% in 2025, and at the company level, the financial performance confirms the same direction: revenues from space rental are on an upward trend, with an estimated turnover for 2025 exceeding RON 50 million, up over 10% compared to the previous year.
