BuildGreen announces the achievement of BREEAM Excellent certification for 12 residential buildings within Greenfield Băneasa, a project developed by Impact Developer & Contractor. Issued by BRE Global, the certification covers 982 apartments across Phases 1, 2, 3, and 5 of UTR3 (Teilor District) and confirms the sustainability performance of buildings totaling 62,706 sqm of net internal floor area and more than 96,999 sqm of gross internal floor area.
“Romania’s residential market is going through a phase of maturation, in which building performance is being assessed more closely by buyers, investors, and lenders alike”, said Răzvan Nica, CEO and Founder of BuildGreen. “The BREEAM Excellent certification awarded to the 12 buildings in Greenfield Băneasa demonstrates that sustainability standards can be implemented consistently on a large scale and can generate tangible benefits for future residents. It is a project that highlights how far the local residential sector has evolved in recent years”, said Răzvan Nica.
The design-stage certificate was awarded for the entire UTR3 development, while the final assessment was carried out for the completed buildings. In total, the UTR3 development within Greenfield Băneasa comprises 14 buildings and 1,167 apartments, with the BREEAM Excellent certification covering the 12 completed buildings and their 982 apartments. For Phase 4, consisting of two buildings and 185 apartments, documentation has been submitted for the building permit application, with execution set to begin once the permit is issued.
“The scale of the development and the extended construction timeline represented some of the most significant challenges throughout the process. Coordinating a project developed over a five-year period required constant monitoring, as well as an ongoing process of training and verification”, added Răzvan Nica.
