Romania Sotheby’s International Sells First Apartment Paid with Cryptocurrencies

20 November 2025

Romania Sotheby’s International Realty announced the completion of the first transaction in which the payment for an apartment in the country was made with cryptocurrencies.

The amount was converted into euros EURe, a regulated digital currency equivalent to the euro, the final value of the transaction being EUR 369,000. The apartment traded is located in the historic center of Brașov, in a building with direct access from Republicii Street, recently renovated.

“For us, at Romania Sotheby’s International Realty, it was a valuable experience and a natural step towards the digitalization and modernization of the market. Transactions in which blockchain meets classic real estate are no longer a projection of the future, but a concrete reality,” says Cristian Șoaită, Business Development Director.
